Security forces stop armed suspects at checkpost; one woman blows herself up to avoid arrest.

QUETTA: A woman blew herself up at a security checkpost near Kharotabad area of Quetta on Tuesday as police tried to arrest the armed suspects approaching the checkpost.
Five suspects, including three women and two children, were approaching the checkpost in the residential area when the security forces discovered they had explosive materials. The forces tried to stop them when one person blew herself up to avoid arrest, reported Arzoo Rehman for Express 24/7.
One woman was of 20-25 years of age while another one was 15-20 years old, said initial reports. The Frontier Corps (FC) said all the attackers, including three women and two men, were foreigners with either Chechen or Uzbek origin and have been killed by the FC Police. The women were reportedly equipped with hand grenades.
“All five attackers have been killed,” Quetta police chief Daud Junejo told AFP. He said that the attackers showed their suicide jackets to the police at the checkpost but the police officials ran away to fetch more security officials.
“The troops retaliated and killed all of them,” he said. “No security official was hurt, it’s all ok, it’s over now.”
He also denied of any suicide attack taking place.
There was an exchange of fire between the security forces and the miscreants immediately after the attack.
Around eight people are feared dead but no exact figure has been given yet. The injured have been shifted to the hospital.
The CCPO Quetta said they had received intelligence of a possible attack in the city, which had prompted extra security checks during the day.
